José Silva Évora defends his PhD thesis on Land, Water and Power in rural Cape Verde

José Silva Évora has succesfully defended his PhD thesis A Terra, a Água e o Poder na Ilha de Santo Antão de Cabo Verde: Um olhar a partir do Tarrafal do Monte Trigo (Land, water and power on the island of Santo Antão, Cape Verde: the case of Tarrafal do Monte Trigo) at the University of Cape Verde. Focussing on a small rural community, he has analysed how the management of water and land resources played a crucial role in structuring social hierarchies and reproducing power asymmetries in colonial Cape Verde.

Congratulations !!!
